Facelift

A facelift is a cosmetic procedure that is performed to improve the appearance of the mid/lower face and neck. Patients typically complain of excess skin and wrinkles of the face and neck as a result of aging, weight loss, and chronic sun exposure. This usually results in deep lines along the side of the nose and mouth (nasolabial fold), hanging skin (jowls) along the jaw line, and hanging skin of the neck. A facelift procedure involves tightening the edge of the facial muscles that cause deep wrinkles/folds and removing the excess skin of the mid/lower face and neck. The procedure may also be performed in conjunction with a browlift (forehead surgery), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), fat grafting, or facial resurfacing.
