Tummy Tuck

A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is a cosmetic procedure that is performed to improve the appearance of the abdomen. Patients typically complain of excess skin of the abdomen as a result of pregnancy, weight loss, or aging. You may also notice a bulge in the midline (diastasis) that develops after pregnancy due to stretching of the abdominal muscles to accommodate a growing baby. An abdominoplasty procedure involves removing the excess skin of the mid and lower abdomen and repairing the separation between the abdominal muscles. In some circumstances, a patient may not require a full abdominoplasty but, instead, benefit from a smaller version of the procedure (mini-abdominoplasty).
